Two Spring statues, from the ancient Earthenware Factory of Devesas warmly welcome our guests.
The ceiling, a rare original stucco from the seventeenth century, has been painstakingly restored by hand by Portuguese craftsmen. In sharp contrast with the imposing granite walls, originals from the sixteenth century, fully restored and decorated with paintings from many different periods and origins.
An ancient bronze Belgian chandelier, asserts its presence by creating a warm relaxing environment.
A pair of Louis XV style bombé dressers, in patinated oak wood, and a Flanders book cabinet - now used as a bar and library -, complete the lobby decor, along with a myriad of pieces from various origins and styles.
Access to the remaining five floors, in addition to a customized lift, is done through a staircase rebuilt with parts of the original wood and enriched by two collections of Portuguese original gravures, respectively a collection of Kings of Portugal and Portuguese Coats of Arms.
