A Dream comes True!

Born in Porto, passionate for history, art, travelling, the world, differentiation, excellence, and by the pleasure of hospitality.

In a late afternoon, in the historic heart of the city, the Largo São Domingos, formerly the Largo do Chafariz, a discreet façade of a neoclassical style building, in an advanced state of degradation, next to the Church of Mercy, drew her attention. At a first visit, she surrendered to the beauty and potential of the numerous details of the building in a pre-ruin condition. The Italian stucco ceilings and the wood carved "caisson" from the seventeenth century, so genuinely Portuguese, a precious collection of figurative wall tiles, a mixture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, covering part of the inner court and extending up to the fourth floor.

She left with the confidence that it deserves the investment to recover the history and splendour of this building, surely a witness to many and varied events from the times of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries in the city of Porto. In 2012 she started a thorough deep study and historical survey, with the supervision and support of the Urban Rehabilitation Society, SRU, and of the Archaeology and Heritage Company, and surrounded by a group of professionals to share the concept and materialise a unique and differentiated project, the present M - Maison Particulière.

She followed closely the long demolition, restoration and reconstruction stages, with an ultimate goal of preserving, as much as possible, the archaeological remains and the original history of the building. At the same time, also worked on the identification and integration of the latest rehabilitation techniques and technologies, to achieve the highest possible standards in terms of safety, comfort and well being. After three intense years of total dedication, fully involved in every possible detail and research work, both in interior design and in the selection of materials, decorative pieces, fabrics, original furniture and paintings, she finally achieved in each of the 10 existing Suites an unique own entity.
